HISTORY:
In its territory there are ruins of the town of the Samnites of Irpinia, called Sabatini, that another legend says descended from exiles of the Trojan war. Certainly it was inhabited since pre-historic times for the fertility of the land and abundance of waters.
The town is mentioned in documents in 1045, among the possessions of Rodolferio. Later on, it became part of the feifdom of Atripalda.
