Cesinali

Province of Avellino, Region Campania, Italy

Cesinali is located between the Terminio and the Partenio Mountains, a few kilometers from Avellino, on a hilly territory in the Sabato Valley. The town is crossed by the Sabato river, that separates the municipality territory from the hamlet of Villa San Nicola. Nuts are among the main products of the area. The name of Cesinali reflects the Campanian word "cesinale", from "cesine", meaning that this territory was deforested to be cultivated and to found a new town. During the feudal age it was part of the fiefdom of Atripalda.
