Flumeri

Province of Avellino, Region Campania, Italy

The town lies in a beautiful side of the valley crossed by the two streams of Fiumarella and Ufita. Even if some pre-roman ruins have been found in the locality of Fiaccaglia, the town rose only in the Middle Ages. The feast of San Rocco celebrated on the 15th and 16th of August is an interesting event in which the whole town builds the so called golden lily, a real bell tower made out of ears of wheat, which is ground at the end of the celebration.
