ManocalzatiProvince of Avellino, Campania, Italy
Manocalzati and San Barbato were a fiefdom of the San Barbato family.
The origins of this town are very old, since traces of the iron age have been found. The historical centre is medieval, with narrow streets and lovely palaces with decorated portals of the 18th and 19th centuries. Also San Barbato, a small hamlet with a medieval architecture, has houses surrounding the Norman castle which overlooks the whole Serinese valley. The area is a great producer of chestnuts and nuts.
