Province of Avellino, Region Campania, Italy

The origins of this agricultural village, situated at the feet of the Dinico Mountain, date back to Roman times, but the present settlement is mostly medieval. It was a fiefdom of the noble Lauro family and in the 15th century it was owned by Andrea de Capua until 1549; later it went to the Cutillo family. It was destroyed between 1797 by the French and later in 1860 by the Bourbon army.
