Province of Avellino, Region Campania, Italy

Trevico, known as the Irpinia Roof, is the highest and oldest town in the Barony. It dominates all the valley and is an ideal place to enjoy the beautiful panorama of this area. The ancient town took the name from its location, since it was situated at the cross of three roads. In the middle ages it was called Vico and was a bishop residence, later on it was a fiefdom of the Scotti and of Queen Sancia, then passed to the Loffredo family and later to Consalvo de Cordoba that revived the old name of Trevico. Other feudal lords were the De Bruverris, the De Balzo and the Loffredo.
