Venticano

Not much is known about the history of Venticano; its name first appeared in the 9th century. The old fiefdom was destroyed in 1528 and the owners were at first the Caracciolo family and after them the Monte della Misericordia of Naples. In 1948 it was divided into three areas, separated from the main town of Pietradefusi.
