Vasto with its magnificent oleanders, palm trees, and the splendid sandy beach are all part of one of the more beautiful bays of the central Adriatic, deservedly called "Golfo d'Oro".

The ancient town of Histonium (latin name for Vasto) has found in tourism a true vocation: modern hotels, sporting facilities, traditional seafood cusine, summer evenings filled with culture events and entertainment. The town centre is full of history and offers the tourist a wonderful array of its glorious past: the Palazzo D'Avalos, that today houses the Archeological Museum and Art Gallery, the Church of Santa Maria Maggiore, the Cathedral of San Giuseppe, and the ancient Caldora castle are great for a cultural interlude after sunbathing.

Located about 75 km south of Pescara, Vasto can easily be reached by A14, exit Vasto Nord or Vasto Sud - Montenero di Bisaccia - from Rome it is 270 km.
