O Bambino mio Divino
Io ti vedo qui a tremar,
O Dio Beato
Ah, quanto ti costò l'avermi amato!
From stars descending, O king of Heavens,
you come down to a cave, to the cold and ice.
O my divine Child,
I see you here trembling!
O blessed God,
How much it cost you, having loved me!

mancano panni e fuoco, O mio Signore!
Caro eletto Pargoletto,
Quanto questa povertà
più mi innamora!
Giacché ti fece amor povero ancora!
Thou who are the world's Creator,
You lack clothes and fire, O my Lord.
Dear chosen Infant,
how much more this poverty
makes me love you
Since Love made you still poorer!

You who have joy in the Divine Lap,
how it is you come to suffer on this hay?
Sweet love of my heart,
where did Love carry you?
O my Jesus,
for whom all this pain, for love of me!

Sposo mio, Amato Dio,
mio Gesù, t'intendo sì;
ah mio Signore,
But if it was your wish to suffer,
why are you crying, why whimper?
My Spouse, beloved God,
my Jesus, I understand you;
O my Lord,
you aren't crying out of pain, but of love.

Tu piangi per vederti da me ingrato
dopo sì grande Amor, sì poco amato.
O Diletto del mio petto,
se già un tempo fu così,
or Te solo bramo.
Caro, non pianger più, ch'io t'amo, io t'amo.
You cry 'cause you see me ungrateful
after so great Love, so little loved.
O Treasure of my heart,
of it was like that once,
now only You I wish.
Dear, cry no more, 'cause I love you, I do.

deh mio bello e puro Agnello,
a che pensi dimmi Tu?
O Amore immenso,
a morire per te, rispondi, Io penso.
You're sleeping, my Baby, but meanwhile my Heart,
is not sleeping, but wakes all the time:
Alas my beautiful, pure Lamb,
what are You thinking about, tell me?
O infinite Love,
of dying for you, you reply, I think.

Dunque a morir per me Tu pensi, o Dio,
e ch'altro amar fuori di Te poss'io?
O Maria, Speranza mia,
s'io poc'amo il tuo Gesù,
non ti sdegnare,
amalo Tu per me, s'io nol so amare.
And so of dying for me you are thinking, O God,
and what else but You can I love?
O Mary, my Hope,
if I love so little your Jesus,
don't be angry,
Do love Him for me, if I am not able to.
