HISTORY:

A Roman settlement was established in the area to take advantage of the hot cave springs. In medieval times Acquasanta came under the influence of the Farfa Abbey, to be later included in the Church State. In epoca moderna fu poi inserita nello Stato Pontificio, fino all'Unità d'Italia. Since the 14th century 4 separate jurisdictions existed, namely Acquasanta and Luco, Quintodecimo, Monteacuto, Montecalvo, all of which in 1860, with the annexation to the Italian kingdom, were merged into the one commune of Acquasanta Terme.
