MasselloProvince of Torino, Piemonte (Piedmont-Piemont) Region, ItalyThe Locality:
71 km from Turin, the small town is situated in the northwestern Germanasca Valley with the Bucie mountain (2998 metres) to the South and the Grammuel Mountain (2977 metres) to the North. The territory of Massello is crossed by the Germanasca of Massello stream, that rises under the Pis' Hill forming at 2000 metres of altitude the beautiful Pis' Waterfall.
The economy of the area was mostly based on sheep breading and agriculture. So the land is characterized (better was characterized) by cultivable meadows (particularly suggestive are these of Culmian) and wood (above all larches, beeches and birches). Massello beginning of 50s - worked ground - scythed mountain meadows. |
