HISTORY:
The history of Sestriere is strictly related to skiing. At the beginning of the 1930's the family of Giovanni Agnelli (the FIAT enterpreneurs), wanted to build two towers as hotels, on the hill linking Val Chisone to Val di Susa. Moreover, an area with ski-lifts and other hotels was developed which nowadays is among the best in Europe and where the World
Skiing Championships are often held.
