The Locality: This small center is situated in the Daunia Mountains, along the right bank of the upper Fortore river, and was founded in the Middle Ages, when it was a fiefdom of the Giliberti family. There was in the late 19th and 20th century a massive emigration; in San Nicolas, Argentina, there is a community of over 400 carlantinesi.

  • August 6-7: the celebrations for the patron San DOnato include fair, fireworks, and stands with the typical products of the area such as the small mozzarelle called "uova di bufala", and the sweet "calzoni" filled with cooked wine, chocolate, cinnamon and sugar.
