Prags in German, the commune consists of a number of small hamlets spread along the southern side of the Pusteria valley, in the vicinity of the picturesque Braies lake, at 1490m a.s.l., surrounded by evergreen forests, at the foot of the Dolomite summits of Croda del Becco (2810m.) and Sasso del Signore (2418m).
